Overview (Generated by Yoast)
  • The Soundcore Sleep A30 offers significant improvements in noise control and comfort for side sleepers.
  • It features Smart ANC technology and a 3-stage snore-masking system, enhancing sleep quality.
  • With varied ear tips and wings, it ensures a customizable fit for users.
  • Battery life provides around 9 hours with ANC on, and 14 hours with ANC off, though it’s less than its predecessor.
  • Overall, it’s a more premium product that balances sound quality with noise management, but users should monitor long-term battery health.

Soundcore Sleep A30 – Soundcore’s third attempt at noise blocking earbuds for side sleepers.

From loops on the A10 to wings on the A20 and A30, one thing remains a constant – Anker’s efforts at continuously improving your overall sleep experience.

I’ve had the chance to spend a few nights with the Soundcore Sleep A30 and I’m eager to show you how the improvements stack up.

This early look also provides useful context for folks that already own or are considering the Soundcore Sleep A20.

So, let’s get into it and see if these are the sleep earbuds you have been waiting for or if you’d rather drift off to a different sound.

Release and Options

The Soundcore Sleep A30 was launched in June 2025 on Kickstarter to boost funding from early adopters.

Officially available to the public in August 2025, the Soundcore Sleep A30 can be purchased on Soundcore’s website and Amazon.

There are currently 2 colorways:

  • Moonlit White
  • Mist Green

In the end, I was drawn more to the ever-so-subtle Mist Green and have had them stuffed in my ears for a couple of nights now.

A Touch More in the Box

There’s a little bit more to get excited about right out of the box of the Soundcore Sleep A30.

And that emotion borders more around the number of accessories Anker has included in the box.

Coming in all sizes; 2 different types of ear tips, 3 ear wings – speak to how far Anker has gone to ensure that you get a comfortable fit.

Overall, that’s a welcome decision in my book. Let’s take a look inside the box;

  • Pair of Soundcore Sleep A30 earbuds (Medium silicone ear tips and ear wings pre-installed) x 1
  • Charging Case x 1
  • USB Type-C Cable x 1 (Type A to Type C)
  • Pair of Extra Silicone Ear Tips (Extra-Small, Small, Large) x 3
  • Pair of Extra Memory Foam Ear Tips (Small, Medium, Large) x 3
  • Pair of Extra Ear Wings (Small) x 1
  • Pair of Extra Ear Wings (Large) x 1
  • Quick Start Guide x 1

First Impressions

If this will be your maiden voyage to the land of sleep earbuds, you will be impressed with the appearance of the Soundcore Sleep A30.

And if you’ve grown accustomed to the dimensions of the Soundcore Sleep A20, there’s not much of a change here.

The case is slightly taller than the previous but maintains the circular form that feels like a smooth pebble when gripped in the palm.

Despite being enlarged, we still get a pocket-friendly case that looks attractive and is premium to touch.

Anker introduced a rubberized material at the base of the Soundcore Sleep A30’s case, making it sturdier on flat surfaces.

The new tab on the sliding cap makes it intuitive to operate and easier to identify even when you are inattentive.

Although there’s not much in terms of physical changes to the Soundcore Sleep A30 earbuds themselves, their tips and wings feel a tad more high-end.

That might be a result of what Anker calls their air-filled ear wings made with ultra-soft silicone.

Adaptable In-Ear Fitment

When it comes to getting a comfortable fit, the Soundcore Sleep A series are yet to disappoint.

As a side sleeper, I got an instant fit right out of the box of the previous Soundcore Sleep A20.

However, with the Soundcore Sleep A30, there was a bit of accustoming required.

Maybe it was the feel of the new ear wings or just having to get used to a new device in my ears overnight – a feeling you can expect if you are new to sleep earbuds.

Eventually, they settled in my ears, thanks to their thin silhouette and slender profile.

Moreover, you can fiddle around with the ear wings until you get the right size. And there’s even more options for sizes and types of ear tips.

I generally prefer and have grown accustomed to silicone ear tips for sleeping. If you fancy memory foam, the Soundcore Sleep A30 also gives you that option.

Pretty cool huh? – I’d say so.

Balanced Audio Definition

Just like on the previous gen, the Soundcore Sleep A30 is not limited to white noise and natural sounds.

You can fall asleep to the stream of your own music, a podcast, or even a TV show.

Anker didn’t hint at much effort dedicated to sound quality – as you know, this was built mainly to facilitate restful sleep.

Despite that, if you are holding out for good sound impression all round, for sleep earbuds, the Soundcore Sleep A30 is a safe bet.

Notes come in pretty clear, and the sound is full enough to enjoy a variety of audio content while tucked in bed.

I haven’t tested call audibility yet on the Soundcore Sleep A30. The feature is turned off by default – not available at all on the previous A20.

There are instructions on the User Guide on how you can turn on the call feature.

Novelty Noise Control

Anker is marketing the Soundcore Sleep A30 as earbuds designed for noisy sleep environments.

If you fall into this target market, there are legit reasons to get excited over Anker’s approach to noise control.

Let’s take a quick look at the main players.

Smart ANC (Active Noise Cancellation)

The Soundcore Sleep A30 has Ear Canal Adaptation, made possible by what we only know as a “premium chip” (Anker did not disclose specifics).

Additionally, the earbuds have 2 noise sensors positioned in the back and front of the earpieces.

A driver located in the front closes the loop – likely handling communication tasks between the sensors and the chip.

That tech trio makes up what Anker calls their “active” noise cancellation system.

Their Air Wings (air-filled silicone ear wings) and Twin-Seal Ear Tips (Dual-layer silicone) make up the “passive” system.

3-Stage Snore-Masking System

Anker also refers to the Soundcore Sleep A30 as the world’s first Smart ANC Sleep Earbuds with an active snore-masking audio system.

Soundcore Sleep A30 snore masking.
Snore-Masking – Soundcore Sleep A30. soundcore.com

Let’s check out how that all works.

  1. The charging case actively detects snoring sounds in real-time – that definitely sounds like a first.
  2. Masking sounds are then generated on the Soundcore Sleep A30 earbuds to counter the snoring sounds in real-time.
  3. Making use of the foam tips to maximize noise reduction.

This approach seems a bit complex – wondering if there will be some lag if the process always has to start from the charging case.

Place the charging case within 5 ft (1.5 m) of the snorer for best results”.

There you go – something to keep in mind.

AI Brainwave Audio – With Binaural Beats

Starry Sky, Ocean, Forest – examples from Anker’s audio suite designed to “sync your brainwaves with calming patterns”.

Despite being delivered over binaural beats, I found myself falling back to the more familiar white noises.

For folks used to drifting away to white noise; brainwave audio with its unique frequencies might take a while to adjust to.

All in all, it’s another welcome innovation inside what seems to be a small package filled with notable novelties.

So, let’s recap – active noise cancelling hardware, layered by an active and adaptive snore-masking system, infused with a 3D listening experience.

That sure looks sounds like a winning formula to me.

Battery Life and Sleep Features

The Soundcore Sleep A30 earbuds don’t stop at blocking out noise and playing soothing sounds so you can drift off while counting sheep.

It also packs in a number of sleep-supporting features on the Soundcore App (available on the App Store and Google Play).

Sleep monitoring and reporting, built-in alarms, and a large audio library with deep personalization capabilities are all included.

And battery life? – you might ask. To that end, Anker’s response is an impressive 5 nights of sleep from a single charge.

Battery Life Projections - Soundcore Sleep A30.
Battery Life Projections – Soundcore Sleep A30. soundcore.com

Essentially, we can expect approximately 9 hours of playtime from normal use (Local Mode) with ANC turned on.

Anker also laid out some usage scenarios on the Soundcore Sleep A30, at 50% volume:

  • Bluetooth Mode + ANC On = 6.5H
  • Local Mode + ANC On = 8.5H
  • Bluetooth Mode + ANC Off = 10H
  • Local Mode + ANC Off = 14H

ANC and Bluetooth Modes are the clear battery drainers here, so you might want to choose your scenarios wisely.

I have had a mixed usage scenario over the past few weeks at 70% volume and never had to wake up to an absence of sound.

On the contrary, I have averaged a remainder of 20% battery life at sunrise, after about 7 hours of sleep.

Soundcore Sleep A20 Comparison

I have made a couple of references to the Soundcore Sleep A20 in this post.

However, I thought it will be beneficial to leave a direct comparison for folks looking for a quick reference point.

Here’s how the Soundcore Sleep A30 compares to its forerunner.

Price$259.99 CAD (Currently $199.99 CAD with a $60 discount on Soundcore’s website)$329.99 CAD (Currently $279.99 CAD with a $50 discount on Soundcore’s website)

All in all, it seems you will be paying a $80 premium for active noise cancellation, adaptive snore-masking, brainwave audio, and more premium accessories.

Even with a battery life trade-off, the Soundcore Sleep A30 earbuds still sound like good value to me.

It will only be difficult to recommend to one group – Bluetooth users with sleep durations over 6.5 hours.

Outlook and Early Takeaways

Making its return from the previous A20, the Soundcore Sleep A30 earbuds also sport the Find Device feature.

To help you find a misplaced earbud, this feature basically lets you play a sound from the misplaced earbud using a Bluetooth connection.

And it’s a nice touch like this that keeps me looking forward to subsequent iterations from the Soundcore Sleep series.

Although, it will be imperative to see how the batteries hold up long-term. My experience with the Soundcore Sleep A20 batteries was disappointing – the A20 earbuds no longer accept charge above 20-30%, just at the 12-month mark.

That gripe aside, the Soundcore Sleep A30 earbuds feel like a more complete product – increasingly so with each generation.
