Honor is one of the smartphone brands that has mustered the courage and cleverness to go after a flagship smartphone market dominated by Samsung and Apple. What product in their 2025 lineup have they picked for that task? Yup! The Honor Magic7 Pro.
Does it have what it takes to keep up the momentum from the Honor Magic6 Pro? In this piece, we get a little handsy with the Honor Magic7 Pro to see if they might just be on to something that’s bigger than the buzz.
Skip Ahead
What’s in the Box?
You know how phones now only come with a charging cable, starter guide, and a sim ejector tool? We’d be lucky to even get a box in the future with the way things are trending.
No need to fret though, that’s not the case with the Honor Magic7 Pro.
The smartphone brand is still doing well to include everything you need to get you started, just like they would for someone buying a phone for the first time.

No excuses, no spins. In the Global Version (a version of a device that’s typically unlocked and compatible with an international range of networks and services), here’s what’s in the box;
- Honor Magic7 Pro x 1
- HONOR 100W SuperCharge Power Adapter x 1
- Type-C Cable x 1
- TPU Screen Protective Film (pre-installed) x 1
- TPU Protective Case x 1
- Quick Start Guide x 1
- Sim Ejector Tool x 1
As you can see – they came to play. Unless you are looking for something more specific, there’s really no need to spend extra for smartphone accessories on Amazon or AliExpress.
Bold First Impression
Slightly curved glass, ultra-thin bezels conveniently tucked away underneath curved glass edges, polished finish over aluminum alloy frame, fingerprint-resistant matte glass back – these are some of my favorite things.
Seriously though, these are the things you touch when you pick up the Honor Magic7 Pro for the first time.

We know camera modules are getting larger and more obstructive with each device iteration but here, it’s tastefully done and poetically aligned with Honor’s ideal aesthetic.
All in all, the Honor Magic7 Pro’s façade is intentionally designed and built to make a commanding and admirable first impression.
Every angle exudes sophistication through its diamond-cut craftsmanship”.
Honor.com
Honor was probably infusing dramatic effect when they wrote that, but at first glance (and feel), the Honor Magic7 Pro is pretty close.
Display and Eye Comfort
Turn on the Honor Magic7 Pro display and you are greeted with buttery-smooth goodness (after enduring device setup of course).
All thanks to the 1-120Hz adaptive dynamic refresh rate – tech that basically boosts visual smoothness by auto-adjusting how many times the screen updates the image shown.
Trying to escape doom-scrolling? Then Honor Magic7 Pro is probably not for you. It’s OLED (a more advanced version on the LED), so you get to bask in deeper blacks, higher contrasts and an all-in more immersive color experience.

It gets better (or worse, if you are trying to reduce your screen time) – Honor seems to be leading the charge in adopting Eye Comfort technology. The Honor Magic7 Pro introduces a suite of auto-adjusting features with one mission – protect your eyes and reduce fatigue.
Since the price falls in flagship territory, I won’t have to say “it’s one of the nicest displays I have seen in this price bracket”. It’s one of the nicest displays I’ve seen period.
Performance and MagicOS 9
The Honor Magic7 Pro sports Snapdragon’s 8 Elite chipset – the 2nd gen 3-nanometer processor that goes further than the previous 8 Gen 3 chip in the Honor Magic6 Pro.
It improves performance and energy efficiency across multiple operations including gaming, multimedia, productivity and AI.

What about Bloatware? You might ask. Well, the Chinese company has trimmed down the smartphone’s pre-installed proprietary and marketing software. At least in the global version they only have a handful that can be uninstalled if unwanted.
Honor’s Android 15 skin – MagicOS 9 ships with the Honor Magic7 Pro and brings improvements to AI user experience and functionality, multitasking and gaming.
Overall, customization and operation are quicker, more intuitive and tasteful, with improved security and more intelligent features.
Ultimately, the Honor Magic7 Pro is the first phone with a Dual-Biometric Unlocking setup both accepted by financial institutions – 3D Ultrasonic Fingerprint Recognition and 3D Face Recognition.
Cosmos-Inspired Cameras
I will give props to the housing design of the Honor Magic7 Pro cameras.

The “Squircle” – in Honor’s implementation, is the central result of a uniquely-placed set of intersecting circles, embodying the aesthetic of the Cosmos (hopefully my interpretation makes sense? You decide).
From a closer look, the lines are bold and intentional, somewhat testimonial to intricate lines finished by craftspeople.

Okay – I digress, let’s talk actual cameras. Here’s the setup;
- 50MP Main – Honor calls it the Falcon Camera, but it’s the same as the one on last year’s Honor Magic6 Pro
- 50MP Ultra Wide – Same as last year’s Honor Magic6 Pro
- 200MP Telephoto Camera – Here’s where there’s an upgrade to the Optical Zoom (2.5x to 3x) and Pixel Count (180MP to 200MP).
Basically, the Honor Magic7 Pro can zoom closer to your subject without sacrificing image quality because you can access more subject detail and closeup capabilities.
The main camera is still a stellar performer for your conventional point and shoot tasks. But if you are a sucker for zooms and closeups, you will love the telephoto lens.
Third-Gen Silicon Battery
Third time’s a Charm. Well, charm me, the Honor Magic7 Pro certainly did. 5850mAh capacity is up 5-17% from the previous iteration, depending on the market.

That’s a significant amount of additional screen time, one you probably wouldn’t need because in my 1 week of use, I have not been able to kill this battery past 25% at bed time.
With the included equipment, Honor promises 100W wired charging. To achieve the 80W advertised wireless charging, you will need to purchase their proprietary wireless charger.
For some perspective, that’s a full charge wired in just 33 minutes. If your forgot to plug it in before bed, you would still get a full charge if you plugged in while getting ready for the day.
In addition, Honor’s proprietary E2 chip is embedded in the Honor Magic7 Pro just to manage power – adjusting battery usage and power delivery to ensure your battery lasts longer than your warranty.
Verdict – Beats the Hype?
The answer to that is a resounding Yes.
After a week with the Honor Magic7 Pro, I can say that the smartphone is an easy contender for the best flagship Smartphone of 2025. Why is it worthy of this title? Well, let’s see;
- You get a package with the smartphone, and ALL the accessories you need.
- The build quality and choice of materials are on par with the best in the business.
- An amazing display with a considerable amount of eye protection technology.
- The latest in chipset, software and AI technology for optimum performance, convenience and efficiency.
- Cameras that compete well in the flagship territory, whether you are a pro or an amateur.
- And finally, a battery you cannot kill from normal daily use and even from relative rigorous use.
Sounds like a great deal? Yes, it does, especially when you consider the Honor Magic7 Pro’s price – currently between $1,200 – $1,400 CAD on platforms like PDA Plaza, Spectronic CA and MI4Canada.
